1. Recurring Nightmare

As her fiance slept peacefully beside her, Rachel Hastings tossed and turned, not able to sleep. Her back drenched with sweat, she slipped from under the covers to free her body from the heat. As she slowly drifted off, she hit her dream state.

As she ran, she felt her feet getting heavier. She could hear her heart beating. She was too scared to turn around, but she knew he was close. She started to grow tired and thirsty, but she couldn't stop, because he would get her.

As she bolted around the corner, she stopped dead in her tracks. Her heart stopped quickly. She gasped for air, not knowing her hands had covered her mouth. His glowing eyes stared straight into her. Rachel felt like he knew how she felt, what she was saying in her mind. She felt like he was invading her personal space, inside her mind.

"Where are you going Rachel?" He asked her, an evil grin spread across his face.
"Get away from me!" Rachel shrieked as she spun around on her heel as tried to run away, but he grabbed her wrist and spun around and caught her fall.

As she closed her eyes and accepted it, he slowly lent over and sunk his fangs into her warm neck..

As she woke up with a gasp, she dug her nails into the bed sheets trying to catch her breath. She was sweating even more now. This nightmare was so constant she had become used to falling asleep and waking up in a cold sweat.

"You okay?" Reid asked, turning to face her.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Rachel lay on her side, thinking about her recurring nightmare, and what it meant. Reid was the man of her dreams, her best friend. But her dream, it felt so real. It made her really think about him. She knew something was coming. Something unwanted.
